San Diego County announces some green to help us go green.

The U.S. Department of Energy awarded San Diego $5.1 million in stimulus funds.

The grant will allow the county to expand its conservation efforts.

The money will be used for more than a dozen projects including solar panel installation and upgrades at some county facilities to monitor energy efficiency.

It will also provide incentives for local builders to build green.
