It’s National Caregiver Week, and UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center is celebrating their work.
Family caregivers make an important contribution to those suffering from an illness, though their work often goes unrecognized. As part of their week of classes and discussions about care giving, the Moores Cancer Center is holding an event to recognize and celebrate those dedicated to helping others.
The event will begin with a reception in the Bamboo Garden at 5 p.m. and will be followed by a presentation at 6 p.m.
Alicia Gwynn, caregiver and wife of San Diego Padres and MLB Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn will be sharing her own Caregiver Story during the presentation.

The reception and presentation will be held Thursday, Nov. 10 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. To register for the event, visit the Caregiver Week website.
