Drug-related deaths are way up in San Diego County, while deaths from motor vehicle crashes are way down according to the Medical Examiner's Office, which showed off its new facility on Wednesday.

One room contained thousands of prescription drugs that were taken from homes tied to drug-related deaths.

Drug-related deaths countywide are up 85-percent in the past decade, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

There were 443 drug related deaths last year alone. That's the most ever.

While 284 people died in motor vehicle crashes, that number represents a 10-year low.
