Sounds Like San Diego: January 2

Singer/songwriter Matthew Sweet kicks off another year of great shows around San Diego

Thursday night kicks off the 25 Year Anniversary Month at the Casbah, so be prepared to yuk it up with America's Funny Man, Neil Hamburger. Bizarre comedy doesn't begin to describe Hamburger, who makes pretty regular stops at the Casbah. He'll be joined by tongue-in-cheek rapper Grammatical B, with his songs about tipping bartenders and bro behavior, and Pony Death Ride, a sweet and fun husband-and-wife duo. Around town, Mafard headlines Soda Bar, '90s college-radio favorite Matthew Sweet performs at the Belly Up, and Tori Roze returns to Tin Can.
