Sounds Like San Diego: Feb. 3

Gallows monopolize Wednesday with a show at Soda Bar

I often have theories and rationale for droughts in music, and sometimes I even have insider information, but Wednesday is an anomaly for me. I don't know why the Casbah is closed. I don't know why there are just a couple shows in town, and I only wish that whatever terrible storms want to hit San Diego would come now so we can all feel justified in staying home. But there are still a few options, including the six-piece Appalachian folk-punk band Gallows at Soda Bar and Mr. Castellanos' jazz jam at Panama 66. Sure, there's comedy and karaoke, Club Kingston at Winston's, while Triumph of the Wild stop by Lestat's to engage an all-ages crowd -- but there just isn't a robust amount of music touring happening Wednesday night. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy the options we do have. I just might.
