Sounds Like San Diego: August 12

I start to feel really greedy when a night isn't stacked with shows and I feel like the week is slowing down, but the truth is we only need one or two great shows to make for a great night. In Tuesday's case, rockabilly singer Imelda May brings her unique twist on the genre to the Belly Up, if that's your sort of thing. Meanwhile, singer/songwriter Harper Simon returns to the Casbah. The obvious information of note is that he's the son of Paul Simon, but I caught him last time he played the Casbah, and he's a pretty incredible performer and writer in his own right, and he's super sweet, too, so he won't even hold it against you if you mention Pops. This Tuesday doesn't have to be spent on the couch, after all.

Tuesday, Aug. 12:
