Feeling a little déjà vu? Weekend 2 of Coachella is on the horizon, and like last Thursday, Nicole Novak of Quality Social downtown has F--- Coachella Round 2 for you. This is the third year she has been doing these parties, and it’s a great way to kick off your weekend, whether you're going to that big festival in the desert or not. The San Diego-based house duo known as the Geisha Twins will headline, along with a DJ set from Colour Vision. plus May Star is your host for the night. There’s no cover; more info is here. Other events on my radar include the two-year anniversary of Makeout Weird at the Whistle Stop and Le Spank at the Office.

Its 4/20 on Friday, so what better way to spend the night than at Analog for A Green Party. Voices of Black headline the night, with support from Jon Dadon and Boys Don’t Disco. Get your deets via this link. At the Kava Lounge. it’s an '80s New Wave Dance Party with Club Metro, and at Numbers, check out the Back Room for your industrial and darkwave fix.

On Record Store Day on Saturday, a plethora of goodness awaits you at local record shops, including Spin Records in Carlsbad, FeeLit downtown and the Vinyl Room. Later that night, there is much to choose from. You can head over to Doomsday Dollies Burlesque at Electric Ladyland in Ocean Beach, and there’s also a charity fundraiser for homeless teens at the Fortune 7 Year Anniversary Party at Stingaree, where a portion of the door will be going to the Stand Up for Kids organization. At Spin, it’s Love and Light, Griz, Kiran Notez featuring Apaulo 8, Bassmechanic and more.

Intervention at the Hard Rock Hotel downtown rounds out the weekend Sunday with another stellar event as Paul Van Dyk makes a stop in San Diego on his Evolution World Tour. Get your info here.

These are just some of the events happening this weekend. Check out more on my blog and I’ll see you on the dance floor!

Robin Roth is a familiar voice in the San Diego scene.  She is on the air weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 91X, plus she promotes and spins all over town. For more info about upcoming gigs, check out her event blog. Follow Robin on Twitter @robin_roth or submit your DJ listings here.
