Wednesday's powerful storm poured so much rain on San Diego County, it broke long-standing records in some neighborhoods.

These were the records broken during the atmospheric river storm:

  • Palomar Mountain: 5.22 inches breaks the record of 3.49 set in 1952.
  • Oceanside Harbor: 4.21 inches of rain breaks the record for the day of 0.6 inches in 1982.
  • Vista: 2.24 inches of rain breaks the record for the day of 0.73 inches in 2003.
  • Alpine: 1.80 inches of rain breaks the record for the day of 1.61 inches in 1952.
  • Ramona: 1.73 inches of rain breaks the record for the day of 1.24 inches in 2003.
  • Campo: 1.17 inches of rain breaks the record for the day of 0.86 inches in 1987.

Non-record-breaking rainfall totals were nothing to scoff at either. The National Weather Service released two-day rainfall totals as of 5:45 p.m. Wednesday and many coastal and inland areas saw more than an inch or rain.
