Legoland officials unveiled Sharks Revealed over the weekend, to the terrified delight of thousands of visitors.
The interactive exhibit was designed to introduce kids to the misunderstood creatures of the deep, according to park officials. There are hands-on displays that offer closeup views of sharks.
“Sharks are still among the most misunderstood and intriguing animals alive in the ocean,” Chris Spaulding, senior curator of the Sea Life Aquarium, said. “This new exhibit is an exciting opportunity for families to discover some of the known wonders of sharks while exploring the mysteries that surround them. Sharks Revealed is a great opportunity for families to learn about and celebrate sharks!”
The exhibit includes a timeline showing the evolution of sharks from 350 million years ago to today, a live display of sharks showing their development from eggs to adults, shark species found off the coast of Carlsbad, an interactive "shark lab" where guests can get a hands-on experience using microscopes, plus crafts and artifacts.
