Say β€˜I Do' This Valentine's Day

Brides and grooms across San Diego are being urged to call ahead if they want to tie the knot on Saturday the 14th.

The San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk's office in Kearny Mesa announced they would be open for business this coming Valentine's Day.  The holiday, which falls on a Saturday, could be perfect timing for couples who want to say "I do," or renew their vows.

Officials said they are urging couples to call ahead and schedule an appointment.  Availability is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Walk-in couples will be served between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the office at 9225 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.

The calendar is filling up fast.  Call (858) 505-6197 to schedule an appointment or visit their web site for more information.

In 2008, the clerk's office said they issued 151 marriage licenses on Valentine's Day.
