Airport is Movin' On Up

Live the life of a real jet setter next time you visit the airport. As you prepare for your posh globe-trotting, swing by The WestEnd Gallery, a new art gallery space in the San Diego International Airport, set to open April 1.

Whoever said Lindbergh Field was a provincial backwater hub of transportation was dead wrong. They obviously don’t know that the airport will be a new center of art and culture, as it's set to team up with the 25th Annual Mission Federal ArtWalk Festival to celebrate April—“A Month for Art”—in Little Italy. The airport gallery, located in Terminal 2 West, along with the ArtWalk will feature Mexican artists and their work called “Artes de Mexico.”

ArtWalk opens April 25 and will be open until September.

The WestEnd Gallery will hold an opening reception on April 1 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. and participating artists, airport officials, Mission Federal ArtWalk team and members of El Consulado General de Mexico will attend.
