As things continue to heat up, the Soft Pack play an all-ages show at the Irenic, with help from the Courtneys and Teenage Burritos. Dead Feather Moon, Blackout Party and Strange Vine are at the Belly Up. The Casbah hosts Bob Log III, the Schitzophonics, the Pheasants and Badabing. Junglist Fridays, with plenty of drums and bass, hits the Kava Lounge, and House of Fortune featuring Amtrac are at Quality Social.
On Saturday, Club Sabbat takes over both rooms at Numb3rs in Hillcrest. DJs Severin and Replicant are in the front room, and yours truly will be spinning the old school in the back room. Grab more info here. At El Dorado, Boys & Girls present Thee Cool Cats plus Adam Salter, Boys Don’t Disco and 3rd Twin. Kicks n Licks features Austin Speed at Spin Nightclub. At the Casbah, local San Diego air guitarists will battle to advance to the Western Semifinals in San Francisco. Three winners from each semifinal will advance to the US Finals in Los Angeles in August. The winner of the US Finals will become the 2013 US Air Guitar Champion, and will advance to the Air Guitar World Championships, held in Finland. He or she will represent the United States of America against national champions from 25 other countries around the world. The road starts here.
