Hostetler competed in the javelin throw in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, finishing 32nd. He didn’t give up on his Olympic dream and aimed at Rio de Janeiro in 2016. However, his journey had several twists and turns. Injured and underperforming, he was removed from the Olympic Training Center program. Instead of packing it in, Hostetler launched an online fundraising campaign to fund his training and travel. Now, with his personal best of 83.83m qualifying for the U.S. Track and Field Team, he's off to Rio and the Olympic stage once again.
