NBA Game Summary – Utah at LA Lakers

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Ronnie Brewer and Paul Millsap -- who started in place of the injured Carlos Boozer -- each scored 13 points as Utah downed the Los Angeles Lakers, 99-90, in preseason action.

Deron Williams added 11 points with eight assists for the Jazz. Boozer missed the game with a sore left hamstring.

Kobe Bryant, the league's reigning MVP, attempted just six field goals in 24 minutes, scoring eight points with five rebounds and five assists. Andrew Bynum, who missed most of last season with a left kneecap injury, came off the bench to lead the Lakers with 15 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Farmar added 15 points in defeat for the reigning Western Conference champions.

Lakers head coach Phil Jackson did not make the 90-minute bus trip because of soreness in his legs. Kurt Rambis replaced Jackson as the head man on the LA bench.
