Adrian Peterson Saves Football

by JJ Cooper

North Iowa Area Community College will have a football team this year thanks to Adrian Peterson.

The Vikings running back helped pull off the save, as he and three as yet unnamed NFL players have reportedly ponied up the money to keep the program alive after budget cuts threatened the team's existence. But just three days after the program's demise was announced, the four NFL players have come to the rescue by donating roughly $150,000.

Although none of the other three players have been named, one would assume that Ravens tackle Marshall Yanda is one of them -- he played at NIACC in 2003-2004. Peterson apparently knows one of the North Iowa's assistant coaches from back when he was in high school in Oklahoma.
