Toreros Continue PFL Winning Streak

USD rips Marist to win their 30th straight conference game

One of these weeks USD is going to lose a Pioneer Football League game. This was not that week. Next week doesn't look good, either.

In fact the next half decade or so is probably not gonna work.

The Toreros ran their PFL winning streak to a remarkable 30 straight games (and 35 in a row at home) with a 31-7 thrashing of Marist on Saturday afternoon at Torero Stadium.

Senior quarterback Reid Sinnett threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns without turning the ball over. Junior wide receiver Alex Spadone caught three balls but they went for 110 yards, including touchdown catches of 40 and 49 yards as the Toreros built a 24-7 lead.

Marist QB Austin Day did not have a good day. He got picked off four times, the last one by senior defensive back David Tolbert who took it back 46 yards for the final score of the day. Tolbert's twin brother Daniel also had an interception in the game. Junior corner Cassius Johnson had the other two picks.

Next week USD hits the road to face Davidson. The Wildcats are 3-0 at home this year but they haven't played anyone the caliber of the Toreros.
