Entering Saturday's round of college football games the University of San Diego had won 31 straight Pioneer Football League games. Valparaiso was 0-6 on the season and had dropped 15 of their last 17 games.

This went just like most people thought it would.

The Toreros ripped the Crusaders 42-17 to run their 32nd straight PFL game and 36th in a row at home. Football teams will talk about playing complementary football and that's exactly what USD did.

The defense forced four turnovers, the first one in the first quarter when David Tolbert made a juggling interception and returned the ball to the Valpo 11-yard-line. On the very next play Reid Sinnett found Alex Spadone in the corner of the end zone for a 7-0 USD lead.

Then Michael Bandy got hot and when that happens it's awfully hard to cool him off. The senior wideout scored on touchdown throws of eight, 50 and 75 yards and finished with eight catches for 171 yards. Sinnett threw five touchdown passes and ran for another score.

Next week USD hits the road to play Dayton looking for their 33rd straight PFL win. That would put them just six behind the all-time FCS record, set by a Duquesne program that won 39 consecutive MAAC games from 1999-2006.
