Rugby: Aztecs Could go all the Way

San Diego State men proved victorious over the weekend with a 44-30 win over the LSU Tigers. The Aztecs now head into the semifinals of the National Collegiate Rugby Championships.

The Aztecs are excited that they've made this far.

"Reaching the semifinals is something that we penciled in as a goal when we first started this whole thing three years ago with the program," said SDSU head coach Dan Payne in a news release. "It's great because it's for the kids. They busted their butts and they've worked really hard and they made this a reality."

"They're a very good team, very quick and really good execute at great speed," said Air Force Falcons head coach Tony Mazzarella of the Aztecs in a Cal news release. "They're going to be a handful for anyone that plays them."

Next up for the Aztecs in the national semi's is BYU May 1. On the other side of the bracket are the Cal Bears versus Army.

The semifinals and the championship game will be played May 1-2 at Stanford. Download a printable bracket here.
