Chase Headley and Jedd Gyorko went a combined 0-for-7 Wednesday night at Miller Park. Their batting averages this season are .188 and .135 respectively. Not surprisingly the Padres lost the rubber game of their series in Milwaukee 5-2. The Brewers have won five of six and have stretched their record to 16-6, the best in the bigs. The Padres slipped to 10-12.
Starter Tyson Ross (2-3) gave up 5 runs on nine hits over six inning for the loss. His big mistake was a three-run homer off the bat of Jean Segura in the second.
The Padres head to Washington for a three game series beginning Thursday.
