Making Each Possession Count Is Key: Rivers

The Chargers are playing for their post season life. The Broncos are playing for playoff positioning

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers (17) looks on during the second half of an NFL football game against the Giants Sunday.

A win Thursday keeps the San Diego Chargers in the playoff picture.

A win for the Denver Broncos win moves them closer to home-field advantage.

On Tuesday at Charger Park it was all hands on deck as all 53 Chargers players practiced.

Even Eddie Royal was out there. He's been dealing with turf toe and hasn't practiced since October.

As for keys to Thursday's game?

Denver averages 39 points a game so Philip Rivers says possession and points will be critical.

“I think having it 38 minutes would be great if we can do that Thursday night but we’ve gotta score touchdowns,” Rivers. “To me, if you maintain possession of the ball you gotta still end it with points and preferably touchdowns against this team."
