In the bottom of the third Ohlendorf helped his own cause. His lead-off single got things started for the Friars. With Ohlendorf on first, Raley walked Denorfia on four pitches. Logan Forsythe then had a bunt single to load the bases. Chase Headley singled, scoring both Ohlendorf and Denorfia to make it 2-0 Padres.
Up 3-0 in the fourth, Carlos Quentin delivered the big blow. His three run homer put the Padres up 7-0, more than enough wiggle room for Ohlendorf.
Huston Street pitched a perfect ninth inning for his 20th save in 20 attempts. The Padres 7-4 win ensures the Friars of their fourth straight home series win.
The Padres go for the three game sweep Wednesday at Petco Park. First pitch is at 2:35 PDT.
