Padres Lose Second Baseman Again

Hudson placed on DL

The San Diego Padres placed infielder Orlando Hudson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 26, with a strained left groin.

The Padres also recalled infielder Logan Forsythe from Triple-A Tucson on Friday.

Hudson is hitting .217 with seven RBIs in 26 games. This the second time Hudson has been on the DL season. He missed 15 days earlier this month with a strained right hamstring.

Forsythe was hitless in seven at-bats in an earlier stint with the Padres.

San Diego manager Bud Black said Alberto Gonzalez, Eric Patterson and Forsythe would each get time at second base in Hudson's absence.
