CIF Championship Games at Qualcomm Stadium

Cathedral Catholic, Poway, Helix and Valley Center proved victorious

It was "High School Football Championship Monday" at Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley.

In the Division I final Poway crushed Vista. Gabriel Issac to Isaiah Gross for a 50-yard score for the Titans. They got their first title since 2007 winning it 56-0.

In the Division II final, Helix got the matchup it wanted – seven-time defending champ Oceanside. The Highlanders got ahead early and never looked back. Brandon Lewis to Gary Thompson for the 65-yard score. Helix won it 44-6 avenging their '08 and '09 championship game losses to the Pirates.

Cathedral Catholic smashed Olympian to win the Division III title. Garrett Bogart rolled and found Brian Heinz on the sideline. The defenders had thought he stepped out of bounds but he didn't. It was a four-touchdown day for Heinz, Dons win 41-nothing. Cathedral Catholic capturing an impressive fifth straight D-3 championship.

In the Division IV game, Valley Center beat Santana for its 5th section title in eight years. Ryan Kleiman for 53 yards to Michael McInerny. They went on to win it 20-14.
