Boise State Arrives For Poinsettia Bowl

Undefeated Broncos excited to face TCU

For the second time in three seasons, the Boise State Broncos finished the regular season undefeated.  In 2006 they capped a perfect season with a win over Oklahoma in the BCS Fiesta Bowl.  Tuesday night, they'll have to settle for a spot in the Poinsettia Bowl against (10-2) TCU.

"We're very excited to come to San Diego for the first time in a bowl game to face a talented TCU team," said Broncos Head Coach Gary Petersen.

The Poinsettia Bowl match-up will feature two quality quarterbacks in Boise State's Kellen Moore, and the Horned Frogs Andy Dalton. Moore averaged 272 yards passing a game, while Dalton threw eleven touchdown passes and just four interceptions in just ten games.

Boise State arrived in San Diego on Friday, and went right to practice.   TCU comes to town Friday night, and won't practice until Saturday.

"Boise State is a BCS caliber team," according to TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson. "We're thrilled to be playing them."

The Horned Frogs will have some extra star power on their sideline with the Chargers LaDainian Tomlinson, a TCU alum, planning on being at the game.

The fourth annual Poinsettia Bowl is hoping to reap the benefits of this classic match-up.    It's a big victory for them, even before the game is played.
