Heart Attack Grill Spokesman Dies of Heart Attack

John Alleman would stand outside the restaurant doors for hours, talking with customers and coaxing others to come in.

The Las Vegas-based Heart Attack Grill appears to be living up to its ill-fated name.

John Alleman, the unofficial spokesman for the hospital-themed fast food chain, suffered a heart attack last week and was taken off life support Monday, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

Alleman was 52.

Restaurant owner β€œDoctor Jon” Basso told the Sun that Alleman was a regular fixture at the eatery, famous for its high-calorie menu that boasts a record-breaking 9,982-calorie Quadruple Bypass Burger.

According to Basso, Alleman would stand outside the restaurant doors for hours, talking with customers and coaxing others to come in.

β€œHe never missed a day, even on Christmas,” Basso told the Sun. β€œHe lived, ate and breathed the Heart Attack Grill.”

Alleman is the second unofficial Heart Attack Grill spokesman to die in as many years, Gawker reported.

In 2011, 29-year-old Blair River died of flu-related pneumonia, Basso said at the time.
