Woman Accused of Shooting at North Park Barber Sentenced

Adrian Blanche Swain had tried to shoot three times but the gun malfunctioned

A woman who pleaded guilty to attempting to shoot a barber last year was sentenced to 9 years in state prison Monday, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office confirmed.

Police said Adrian Blanche Swain, 30, got a haircut at the 619 Barber Shop on 30th in North Park on Feb. 10, 2016.

According to barber Manny Montero, Swain left the shop happy with the haircut he had given her but returned an hour later with a different haircut. She yelled at Montero for messing up her hair and then attempted to shoot him three times but the gun malfunctioned.

Montero and other employees tackled Swain to the ground and held her there until police arrived.

Swain pleaded guilty in Oct. 2016 to assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
