Several local offices will be closed Monday in Observance of Presidents Day, which honors George Washington and other president's birthdays along with the legacy of the American presidency, according to the National Archives.
All city and county administrative offices, including library branches and animal shelters, will be closed for the holiday, which lands on the third Monday of February.
In San Diego County, the following will also be closed:
- Fallbrook Community Center
- Lakeside Community Center
- Lakeside Teen Center
- Spring Valley Community Center
- Spring Valley Gymnasium
- Spring Valley Teen Center
- 4S Ranch Sports Park recreation office
Within San Diego city limits, recreational centers, city pools, the Tecolote Nature Center, the Family Justice Center and the recycle center on Miramar Pace will be closed.
Trash service will be collected on a normal schedule for city of San Diego residents.
All public buildings in Balboa Park will be closed including, Balboa Park Activity Center, Botanical Building, Casa del Prado, Municipal Gym and War Memorial Building, the city said.
Balboa Park visitors should check with other museums for their holiday hours.
San Diego County parks, campgrounds and neighborhood parks will remain open.
The following will also remain open:
- All skate parks will be open.
- Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center will be open.
- San Diego reservoirs will be open a half-hour before sunrise to sunset.
- Chollas Lake will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Torrey Pines, Mission Bay and Balboa Park golf courses will be open normal hours. Holiday rates will apply.
The city said parking meters, time restrictions for parking on streets and yellow zones within the city of San Diego will not be enforced while red, white and blue zones will be enforced.
Parking rules on Port of San Diego property and in different cities may vary so read signage provided.
Law enforcement and other emergency and essential services within the city and county will be uninterrupted.
The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus and trolley will be operating on a modified service schedule.
The Sycuan Green Line, Orange Line and, UC San Diego Blue Line will all operate on a Saturday service schedule.
Express routes such as 20, 150, 950 and rapid routes 201/202, 215, 225, 235 will also be operating on a Saturday service schedule.
The Sorrento Valley Coaster will be operating on a weekday service.
