A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he drove his truck into a Spring Valley bar, crushing the area where people normally play pool.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision that happened around 9:09 p.m. Thursday on Campo Road, just north of State Route 94 at the Bancroft Drive exit.
A truck plowed into the Bancroft Bar, slamming into a pool table inside.
According to the owner, the driver was parked outside the bar and put the vehicle into drive instead of reverse.
One man was taken to the hospital as a precaution, San Diego County Sheriff's deputies said. He had been slightly pinned by the truck during the incident but is expected to be okay.
The owner told NBC 7 he estimates the crash cost him around $5,000 in beer because the truck crashed through that area of his inventory.
The bar was expected to open at noon Friday. The owner said other than the boarded up wall, there wasn’t too much structural damage. He said he has bands booked to play the venue throughout the weekend.
