A 65-year-old man was stabbed by a suspect near the Gaslamp Quarter downtown Saturday evening.
A witness saw the two men in an argument at 8th Avenue and E Street. The suspect fled westbound on the 700 block of E Street around 5:12 p.m. after stabbing the man in the stomach.
The victim fell to the ground hitting his head. He had two stab wounds in his stomach and a head injury from his fall.
He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned man in his 20s, 5-foot, thin and clean cut. He was wearing a black baseball cap, blue shirt and red and black pinstriped shorts.
San Diego Central Division Detectives are investigating.
