Stolen Car Slams Into Garage

A car crashed into a garage after an early-morning pursuit, according to police.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the corner of Kramer Street and Linda Vista Road after police chased a woman driving a stolen car.

San Diego State University police first noticed a stolen car from license page reader, which prompted the officer followed the vehicle for a while. He then tried to initiate a stop around Interstane 8 and highway 163. But when the driver of the vehicle didn't slow down, a high speed pursuit started.

It lasted around 13 minutes and one of the tires of the white Honda civic flew off after the chase. Ultimately, the car hit the garage, ending the pursuit.

One woman was found near the accident, and police arrested her for being under the influence of alcohol. The Honda civic was reported stolen off Friars Road on Friday.

Police are investigating the incident.
