Cal Fire San Diego crews battled a small brush fire near the U.S. Mexico Border east of Otay Mesa Tuesday.
The vegetation fire south of Otay Mountain was about 5 acres with a slow rate of spread at about 1 p.m.
Cal Fire crews were in the area making water drops from above. Light smoke was visible, according to a photo shared by Cal Fire.
By 2:30 p.m., the fire's forward rate of spread had been stopped. Crews would remain on the scene throughout the afternoon to monitor hotspots.

No damage or injuries were immediately reported.
