    Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who stole a purse from a parked car in Santee and spent thousands of dollars with the victim’s credit cards.

    A man reportedly stole a full wallet from an unlocked car at the 24 Hour Fitness on Mission Gorge Road on Jan. 21.

    The wallet contained credit cards, an iPhone 6, cash, and other items, according to San Diego County Crime Stoppers.

    The suspect went on to spend $7,000 at Game Stop, Lowe’s, and Bust Buy in Santee with the victim’s credit cards, officials said.

    Surveillance footage spotted the man at these locations.

    He was described as 35 to 45 years old and 5-foot-8. The suspect was last seen wearing a black hat, a dirty white t-shirt, tan pants, and a dark blue plaid jacket.

    Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
