A woman found in the center divider on Interstate 8 Saturday evening was pronounced dead, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials confirmed.
The woman was found on eastbound I-8 near Mission Gorge Road, by Mission Valley and Grantville, around 8 p.m.
Authorities responded to the scene and started CPR. However, the victim was pronounced dead.
Officials did not have further details on what happened that evening leading up to the dead.
The investigation is ongoing.
