The Fourth of July fireworks show at La Jolla Cove will not go on this year.
Organizers with the La Jolla Community Fireworks Foundation said theyβve raised the needed $30,000 to stage the event, but claim that litigation by activists delayed the planning, so they didnβt secure a firework company in time.
Now there arenβt any fireworks companies available at such short notice, organizers said.
βThe city of San Diego has been wonderfully supportive in continuing the La Jolla event and has incurred substantial expense in settling the four years of litigation by environmental activists,β said a news release from the foundation.
All donations will be refunded by request.
The 2015 Fourth of July fireworks show is still set to happen.
