Active Duty Marine Identified as Man Killed in Oceanside Crash

An active duty Marine was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car in Oceanside, officials said. 

The crash happened just after 4 p.m. Sunday on the 2700 block of Vista Way, according to the Oceanside Police Department (OPD). 

The victim, identified as Najee Williams, of Wildomar, California, was riding his Yamaha R1 motorcycle eastbound when the crash happened, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office. 

A Volkswagen Jetta driving westbound failed to yield and turned into the motorcycle's path, toward a shopping center driveway, according to the ME. 

When police arrived on scene, they found the victim lying in the roadway with significant injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. 

The incident is under investigation.
