Mom of Teen Killed in Hit-and-Run Pleads for Answers

It will be the second Thanksgiving dinner Stacy Hofer prepares without her only son, Anthony.

A San Diego-area family is still looking for answers after a teenager was found dead, the possible victim of a hit-and-run driver.

Anthony Hofer's body was found in the brush off Heritage Road in Chula Vista August 27, 2015.

His mother, Stacy Hofer, is still looking for the person responsible.

β€œSomebody out there knows something,” said Stacy Hofer. β€œSomebody out there is living with a secret.”

It will be the second Thanksgiving dinner she prepares without her only son.

β€œI need to know what happened,” Stacy Hofer said.

The mother explained what happened that night: She drove Anthony to a nearby taco shop. On the way home, they had an argument and Anthony decided to walk home.

Police think Anthony was walking along the bike lane and was hit by a hit-a-run driver.

β€œIt’s something I have to live with because we were fighting the last time I saw him,” she said.

Anthony's family is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone that provides information that leads to police to the person responsible.

β€œLet us have some closure,” said Stacy in hope the person behind the wheel is listening. β€œHe didn’t deserve to die like that.”
