Gunfire rang out in Old Town early on Tuesday morning
Police said the owner of a jewelry store fired at two men who has broken into Celebrity Gems and Jewelry in the 2500 block of Congress Street and were in the process of robbing the store. The owner, who lives above the store said he heard a noise at about 3:30 a.m. and went to investigate. He told investigators that one of the suspects appeared to be holding a handgun, so he fired two shots at the crook. It's not known if either suspect was hit, but the owner was unharmed.
The robbers fled the tore, scaled a wall and may have gotten into a red SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer.
