1. Apple Announced It's Bringing 1,200 Jobs to San Diego in New Tech Site

Looking for a new career? This may be good news for you! In December, Apple announced that it would establish a new site in San Diego, with a commitment to adding 1,000 employees over the next three years. On Wednesday, the company said it will bring even more jobs because of the region's potential. NBC 7's Alex Presha covered the story. 

Apple, which currently employs 600 people in San Diego, will soon add an extra 1,200 workers over the next three years. NBC 7's Alex Presha has more.

2. San Diego Feels Casino Industry Construction Boom

There's a unique construction boom happening in San Diego right now, but you'll only find the evidence in the most northern and eastern parts of our county. Indian Reservations are vying for your business with high-priced and luxurious casino additions. NBC 7's Steven Luke brought us this story.

3. Scientists Discover Different Kind of Killer Whale off Chilean Coast

Scientists may have found a new species of Killer Whale that has been seen only in a beaching 60 years ago, and heard about in sailor tales. While they may be waiting for DNA tests from tissue samples to determine if it's a new species, we're still enjoying the video of them!

4. Pacific Beach Mom Has Plan for Keeping City Parks Clean

In December, Sandy Algra's son found a syringe in Liberty Station Park and scratched himself with it. The 3-year-old needed to be seen by a doctor and the entire ordeal prompted his mother to fight for change. NBC 7's Omari Fleming talks with Algra about her proposal to make parks dedicated children's areas in San Diego.

5. San Diego Named No. 5 City for Food Lovers in US: Yelp

San Diego has long been known for its breathtaking beaches and powerhouse craft brewing scene but, now, America’s Finest City is also ranking high among foodies. On Tuesday, Yelp released a list of the “Top U.S. Destinations for Food Lovers” and San Diego snagged the No. 5 spot. See the other cities on the list here.
