Imperial Beach Pier Improvement Efforts

Public input welcome at 6:30 p.m. meeting at Imperial Beach City Hall

The Port of San Diego wants your help, as it looks for ways to improve the Imperial Beach pier. The port says it has upgraded the pier over the last decade, and now wants to hear from the public on how the pier can be more enjoyable to people. If you'd like to give your input, the port is holding a workshop Monday night. It will take place at the Imperial Beach City Hall, in the community room, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. No specific plans are in place. The port says it will look at the next steps to improve the pier, after tonight's meeting. The Imperial Beach Pier was constructed in the 1960's. It was later destroyed by a storm, and rebuilt in the 1980's. In 2006, the port made significant updates to the pier. In 2014, nearly 1,500 planks on the pier were replaced.
