A powerful storm system dumped rain on San Diego County for three days, bringing inches of much-needed rain to the region.

Unless you live in the desert, most of the county saw 3 inches or more from storm systems that pummeled the region from Saturday through Tuesday.

The National Weather Service said there has been so much rainfall, it has almost met our annual rainfall amount. San Diego has seen about 7.22 inches of rain during their tracking period -- which is from Oct. 1, 2022, to date. In a typical year, San Diego would get about 4.06 inches of rain to date, meaning we're up about 178% from what's typical.

For an entire year, from October to October, the county would typically see about 9.79 inches of rain. Our 7.22 inches so far is about 74% of that total.
