A head-on crash in Pacific Beach is being investigated as a possible DUI, San Diego police said.
The crash happened in the 1300 block of Garnet Avenue just before 2 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses described hearing a big boom that sounded like a crash.
The black car quickly caught on fire and the two people inside that car were able to get out. Bystanders rushed into the help the two older couple in the white car but the doors on the car jammed.
"I didn't think I could get the guy out of the car because the black car had all this — it was sparking," Nicholas Galvante told NBC 7.
The four people were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The investigation into the crash was ongoing.
