Man Sought in Armed Robbery at Golden Hill Shell Station

A gas station clerk, faced with a man holding a handgun, quickly grabs cash from the register and hands it over in surveillance video documenting an armed robbery last week.

The video was released Tuesday by San Diego Crime Stoppers along with the offer of $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the robbery in Golden Hill.

The Shell Station at F and 25th Street was robbed just before 4:30 on Thursday, Jan. 31.

Law enforcement officers say a man described as 5-feet, 5-inches tall to 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighing 200 to 250 pounds walked into the gas station and pointed a handgun at the clerk.

He was unshaven, officials said, and wearing a black beanie, a black hooded sweatshirt, gloves, black pants and dark colored tennis shoes with white soles.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspect can call the SDPD’s Robbery Unit at (619) 531-2299 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
