A capped natural gas leak briefly shut down Kearny Villa Road in Miramar, officials said.
A strong odor of gas was first reported around 12:30 p.m. at a complex off Kearny Villa Road, near Interstate 15, San Diego Fire-Rescue officials said.
Investigators said they smelled natural gas in the area when they arrived.
SDG&E investigators determined the leak was coming from a regulator at a SDG&E transmission station.
The leak was capped just before 2 p.m., and the road reopened after, officials said.
