Day Care Molest Case Heading to Trial

The operators of a San Diego day care have been ordered to stand trial on felony charges of child molestation.

A Superior Court judge determined Thursday that prosecutors had presented sufficient evidence for Mark Kaczmarczyk and his wife Anita to be tried.

According to testimony, authorities began investigating the couple in September 2007 after the parents of a 2-year-old girl who attended the day care brought their child to a hospital. The girl's father had noticed blood in the girl's diaper the night before.

Detectives learned other children in the couple's care had injuries.

Defense attorneys say the evidence is insufficient.

Each defendant faces 60 years to life in prison if convicted.
