Coast Guard Rescues Injured Man 150 Miles Off Coast

The U.S. Coast Guard helps a 36-year-old man in need of medical help approximately 150 miles off the coast of San Diego Sunday.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector San Diego received a report from the crew of the 93-foot passenger vessel Craig G stating that a passenger had sustained a severe leg injury and needed assistance.

A Coast Guard helicopter was launched, safely hoisted the man at approximately 5 p.m. and transported him to Sector San Diego where EMS took him to UCSD Medical Center.

There is no word on the man’s condition.
