Busy San Marcos Intersection Closed Due to Water Leak

A water leak in San Marcos has prompted the closure of a busy intersection during Tuesday's morning commute.

It was not clear what caused the water leak along westbound San Marcos Boulevard at Rancho Santa Fe Road, near San Marcos High School Tuesday morning, but the city of San Marcos warned major traffic delays should be expected.

Motorists would not be able to access southbound Rancho Santa Fe Road from San Marcos Boulevard and only two lanes of westbound San Marcos Boulevard were open due to the leak, San Diego Sheriff's Department (SDSO) said.

There was no word on when the roadways would reopen.
