Wreaths to be Laid on San Diego Veterans' Graves for the Holidays

Just after Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and at the beginning of the holiday season Wreaths Across America and representatives from each branch of the military plan to join community members in honoring our nation’s veterans.

Patriot Guard Riders will escort semi-trailers loaded with wreaths Thursday morning to Miramar National Cemetery and Fort Rosecrans in preparation for Saturday’s ceremonies.

On Saturday at 9 a.m. the wreaths will be laid on veterans’ graves at both Miramar Cemetery and Fort Rosecrans.

“In many homes, there is an empty seat for someone serving our nation or a loved one who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It is important to express our appreciation during the holiday season,” Wreaths Across America said in a statement.

Wreaths Across America is a non-profit organization dedicated to “remembering our fallen heroes, honoring those who serve, and teaching our children about the sacrifices made by veterans and their families to preserve our freedoms.”
