A sick woman thought to have Ebola was later declared Ebola-free late Monday night, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Monday, the department called HAZMAT crews to the border after a pregnant woman at the Otay Mesa border crossing was suffering from flu-like symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and a fever.
The woman had reportedly visited Africa, though it was later determined she had actually been to Nigeria, not a country with an Ebola outbreak.
The woman was taken to a local hospital where they determined she had the flu.
