Fight Turns Deadly Outside Mexican Restaurant

The fight happened outside the Colima's Mexican Food restaurant in Vista Friday night

A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in a fight that broke out in front of a Mexican food restaurant in Vista Friday night, officials confirmed.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said the fight was reported just after 9:30 p.m. outside the Colima’s Mexican Food restaurant at 1850 Hacienda Dr.

When deputies arrived, they found one man suffering from critical stab wounds at the scene. He was taken to a local hospital but died shortly thereafter.

At about the same time, the fire department received a phone call from a 19-year-old man also reporting he had been stabbed. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Detectives believe he was also involved in the fight outside the eatery.

The deadly fight is under investigation and detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses. At this point, it is unknown if the deadly stabbing is gang related.

The victim’s name was not immediately released.
