Pot laden surfboard found by Border Patrol

Some dope-loaded surfboards smuggled in from Mexico were caught by Border Patrol agents off the coast.

Agents arrested two surfers, both Mexican citizens, who were in the U.S. illegally, according to officials. Officials said they were paddling with 141 pounds of marijuana attached to a third surfboard they were towing.

The men were spotted 200 yards offshore north of the border in Imperial Beach. A helicopter with a high-powered searchlight helped find the men.

The board had six bails of pot secured tightly with duct tape. Agents said the drugs were worth close to $85,000.
